JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Quality Director, the Quality Inspector is responsible for verifying conformity, performing tests and taking measurements of our products. He will also have to process returns of goods and fill out various quality reports.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Quality Control
- Inspect products according to drawings, technical specifications and procedures.
- Perform reliability and functionality tests on products (physical properties, capacities, etc.) including those developed in R&D.
- Complete inspection and non-conformance reports.
- Report non-conformities to the appropriate individuals.
- Calibrate and monitor measuring equipment.
Continuous improvement
- Investigate the causes of non-conformance.
- Collaborate with the product engineering team and suggest possible repairs to ensure product compliance.
- Participate in the improvement of work procedures.
Merchandise Returns
- Inspect and process returns, repairs and restockings.
- Enter data into the “Quality Table” according to procedure.
- Write non-conformance reports when applicable.
- Keep the quality department clean and classify products according to the decisions made.
REQUIREMENTS, QUALITIES AND SKILLS
- Ability to use basic measuring equipment (micrometer, caliper, tape measure, etc.).
- Ability to understand or interpret part or assembly drawings in French and English.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in quality control desirable.
- Observational and analytical skills.
- Good physical condition. Able to lift loads up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Interpersonal communication, tact, influencing skills.
- Fluency in French (spoken and written).
- English comprehension (reading).
- Autonomy and thoroughness.
- Team spirit.
- Functional knowledge of the Office suite.
- Experience in sheet metal or welded metal quality control (an asset).
