JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the R&D Director, the Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer plays a key role in the creation of products intended for mass production and retail distribution.
You transform ideas into tangible products: from the initial concept to a robust, industrializable solution ready for large-scale manufacturing, both locally and internationally. About 60-70% of your time is dedicated to design and technical development, with the remainder spent on the technical coordination necessary to ensure project success.
Supported by a multidisciplinary team of about ten people (engineers, technicians and designers), your goal is clear: to deliver high-performance, reliable and competitive products adapted to customer needs and ready to hit store shelves on time and at the right cost.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Product development and design:
- Market analysis: Understand market and customer needs to develop relevant product concepts.
- Product Design: Design and develop mechanical products in SolidWorks, from the initial sketch to the final product.
- Optimize designs for mass production: choice of materials, simplification of assemblies, part robustness.
- Prototype Manufacturing: Oversee prototype production, conduct performance tests, validate results, and adjust designs as needed.
Industrialization and manufacturing collaboration:
- Ensure a smooth and efficient transition from prototype to mass production in collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Collaborate with the local manufacturing engineering team as well as international manufacturing partners to validate product manufacturability, quality, and costs.
Technical Project Coordination:
- Ensure technical oversight of projects to meet cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate product development, production, and launch.
- Act as a technical reference for the teams involved.
Interdisciplinary collaboration:
- Work closely with purchasing, production, and marketing to ensure overall product consistency.
- Contribute to knowledge transfer by leading internal training sessions on new products.
